Open the “Cottage” image.
Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + Alt + N) and fill it with white using the Fill tool.
Double-click on the new layer and adjust the Blend If sliders (“Blending Options”, section “Blending If:”), as shown below. This will cause the dark pixels of the bottom layer to replace the white pixels and the light pixels to be covered with white.
Add a layer mask to the snow layer (Layer> Layer Mask> Show All). Now take a round soft brush and paint over the mountains and other areas that look blurry with black. Continue reading
8 patterns of wood.
Grungy Cracked Wall.
Open the hetedeik.png image from a set of 8 tree patterns. Then go to Edit> Define Pattern.
After that, create a new document sized 1024 by 768 px and fill the background with a tree pattern.
Place the Grungy Cracked Wall texture on top of the background and change the blending mode to Soft Light.
Use the Horizontal Text tool to write black text. The example used the font Hobo Std, size 200 pt. Continue reading
