How to create a mockup flyer in Photoshop?

In this article, I will show you some advanced Photoshop tools that we will use to create a flyer layout (mocap). We will use smart objects for placeholders, the “Transformation” parameters for stretching, beveling and curving layers. We have many other tips and tricks. After reading this article, you can create your own layouts (mockups) of flyers, business cards, and more using Photoshop (Photoshop).

1. The most important thing is to think about why you are going to create a mockup in Photoshop: for a business card, brochure, flyer, flyer, or for something else. In this article, we will develop a flyer layout. Create a new document with size A4, click OK.
2. Now create a copy of the background layer by pressing Ctrl + J, then select the Crop tool (C) and make the whole document a little bigger, as shown in the figure below, the edges will appear in the document, but don’t worry! Choose gray as the background color, fill these areas with gray.

A4 format

3. Name the new copied layer Placeholder, then right-click on it, convert it to a Smart object. Remember – you should not scale this layer before converting to a Smart object. After converting the layer to a Smart object, you can make any changes. I reduce it as shown in the image below.
A4 format

4. Make the Placeholder layer smaller, apply the “Shadow” effect:

Mix Mode – Normal;
Opacity – 100%;
Angle – -45 degrees;
Distance – 85 pixels;
Size – 130 pixels.
Create six copies of this layer, then align them as shown in the image below. Set the distance as you wish.

5. Good. Now bend the lower right corner of the front layer. To do this, select the layer and press Ctrl + T, the Transformation tool will be activated. Next, you will need to select the “Warp” parameter located on the right side of the options menu.

6. Now try to make a small shadow of the bent corner, use the Brush tool for this. Then duplicate each layer and press Ctrl + T, right-click on each copy of the layer and select “Flip Vertical” to flip it. After that, move each copy below the original layer to create its reflection.

7. Now select all reflection layers and move them in the layer stack below the original layers. Create a “Layer Mask” for them and apply a gradient to the mask of each layer to hide half of the reflection layers, as well as reduce the opacity to make the image more realistic.

8. Now double-click on any of the upper layers, as a result of which a new document will open. Place the flyer in this document and press Crtl + s to save it, and return to the main document. Wow! Try experimenting with shadows and highlights. Now you know how to make a wide variety of layouts (mockups) in Photoshop.
