Complete Web Animation Guide (part 1)

Let’s start with the preparation of the main image, create a multi-level complex shape and add several layer styles to give it a beautiful appearance. I used Photoshop CS6 version, but any version from CS3 and higher will do.

Travel flyer design template, flip side:

Resources
Sunny island;
A monkey;
Doll wyang.
Step 1
Before making a brochure on a computer, in Photoshop, press Ctrl + N to create a new document. Set a width of 2480 pixels and a height of 600 pixels, a resolution of 300 pixels per inch:
Step 2
Go to File> Place Embedded. Locate and select the image of the sunny island, and then click the “Place” button to insert it as a smart object. Adjust the size and position of the image. Press Enter to apply the conversion:
Step 3
Repeat the previous steps to insert the water sports image as a smart object. Place it on top of a layer of the sunny island:
Step 4
Before you can make a full brochure in Photoshop, add a layer mask to the water sports layer. In the layer mask, create a black and white linear gradient diagonally:
Step 5
Using the Rectangle tool, draw a blue (RGB: # 0099c5) rectangle shape. Set its height to about 860 pixels:
Step 6
Go to Edit> Transform to apply the Warp command. Drag the warp handles to bend the rectangle as shown in the image below:
Step 7
How to make a brochure: Add a Gradient Overlay layer style. In the Gradient Overlay dialog box, set:

Blend Mode: Overlap;
Gradient colors: “From black to white”;
Style: “Linear”;
Angle: 0.
We use this method to change the color of the current shape to another, but the gradient effect appears regardless of which color is selected:
Step 8
Draw another white rectangle over blue. Using the “Warp” command, change its shape, as shown in the figure:
Step 9
Add a mask to the layer of the current shape. Using the Gradient tool, create a linear gradient from white to black, drag the cursor diagonally from the lower left to the upper right corner of the white rectangle. You should get an interesting “glossy” effect, as shown in the figure below:
Step 10
Using the Ellipse Tool, draw a blue (# 005c98) filled ellipse shape. Use the Free Transform command (Ctrl + T) to resize and position the blue ellipse, as shown in the figure below:
Step 11
We continue to review the process of how to make a brochure. With the blue ellipse selected, press Ctrl + C to copy it to the clipboard. Press Ctrl + V to paste a copy of the blue ellipse. Stretch the copy to make it slightly larger than the original shape.

Using the Subtract Front Shape command, create a shape that will consist of the original ellipse without a copy. The result should be a “curved figure”:
Step 12
With the selected shape layers, go to the path parameters and click the “Combine Shape Components” button. Now this “curved figure” should be reduced to a separate layer:
Step 13
Duplicate the layer of the curved shape, flip it vertically using the command Edit> Transform Path> Flip Vertically. Use the Move tool to drag a copy to the left, and then change the layer blending mode to Multiply:
Step 14
Add a layer mask to the copy layer of the “curved shape”, use a linear gradient to hide half of it:
Step 15
To make a brochure in Photoshop, repeat steps 13 to 14 to get another layer of “curved shape” at the bottom of the canvas. Use the Free Transform command to resize it:
Step 16
Select all layers except background layers, water sports, and the sunny island. Press Ctrl + G to group the selected layers. Double-click on the newly created layer group to rename it to “blue shape”:
Step 17
On top of the “blue shape” group, draw a pale brown (# efe0c9) rectangle:
Step 18
Using the menu Edit> Contour Transformation> Warp, bend the top side of the rectangle again. See image below. Press Enter to apply the Warp command:
Step 19
How to make a brochure: add another dark brown (# b19e90) rectangle at a height of approximately 425 pixels. Use the Warp command again to bend the top side of the rectangle:
Step 20
Add a white rectangle to the left side of the canvas. Now, using the “Warp” command, bend the top and right sides of this rectangle:
Step 21
With the layer of the white rectangle selected, change its blending mode to Soft Light. Press Alt + Ctrl + G to apply the clipping mask:
